Storytellers Macon: Live at The Douglass

November 5, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

We are back for an elevated show with storytellers curated from our open community workshops. Join us for the first of two shows this year at The Douglass Theatre! Tickets are available soon.
The CAST: Gloria Cisse, Janice Habersham, Rhonda Miller, Teddye Gandy & Verda Colvin
The HOSTS: Ansley Booker & DeMarcus Beckham
The Topic: STIRRING THE POT
Description:
In the shared histories of our people, culture is passed down plate by plate. And this is the magic ingredient that brings the flavor – grit. Your inability to shut up, stop dancing, toe the line. Your pulsating personality allows you to stand out and be tasted, even while mixing and mincing up against others. To add a pinch more salt, rub the seasoning a little harder, and grow bolder every time you face the heat.
Hear five stories of individuals who are resilient and growing stronger, defining Black excellence by refusing to silence their voices. They’re stirring the pot – and gather round Storytellers Macon: Live at The Douglass to experience a conversation that simmers.
Storytellers Macon is on a mission to make sure every voice matters through the art of personal storytelling. In this show, hear distinct and distinguished perspectives from Macon that centers around Black excellence and experiences. From artists to public officials, bureaucrats to activists, we explore how the lessons of one moment can shape who we are.
