At Storytellers Macon, we believe that stories shape culture, honor legacy, and make room for bold futures. That’s why we are proud to partner with Macon Pride and the Tubman African American Museum for Pioneers & Trailblazers: A Storytellers Macon Live Event—a celebration of real voices and the LGBTQ+ icons who’ve transformed Middle Georgia through art, advocacy, and authenticity.
This year’s Pioneers & Trailblazers exhibit is more than a tribute—it’s a living archive. Twenty-two individuals and groups have been honored for their courageous work and vibrant contributions to our region, and now, we’re adding new names to that legacy:
Marques Redd (Rainbow Serpent), Richard Frazier-Sostillio (Theatre Macon), and Rearcous Smith (Actor).
To honor these trailblazers, we’re doing what we do best—centering their stories on stage. Join us at the Tubman Museum for an unforgettable evening featuring live storytelling by Richard Frazier-Sostillio, Dr. Thomas Bullington, and Marquez Redd, guided by the fierce and fabulous Caroline Exum as Master of Ceremonies and accompanied by the musical stylings of McKinley Stark.
Come for the exhibit. Stay for the stories. Witness the power of memory, movement, and Middle Georgia’s ongoing journey toward equality.
Free and open to all. No registration required.
Let’s honor the past, uplift the present, and celebrate the future—together.
