|| Seat at The Table ||
featuring Libertad Aranza
A seat at the table is a figure of speech, a metaphorical position where those seated have a say, have power, have a voice. What does it mean to have a seat at the table for you? In a less serious sense, maybe you can recall a time when you were finally asked to sit with the adults during Thanksgiving dinner. Wasn’t that empowering? In a more serious sense, maybe you can remember the day you were finally asked your opinion on the way things operate at your job. How did that feel?
No matter what your story may look like, the question at hand remains: What does it take to have a seat at the table? What threshold do you have to cross? What accomplishments do you have to have under your belt? What do you have to look like? Where do you have to come from?
At Storytellers Macon, everyone is always welcome at our table. So come take your seat, share your story. We would love to hear it.
