This month, Rachel Podwolsky from the Middle Georgia Derby Demons brings the thrill, grit, and sparkle of roller derby to the storytelling stage. “Whip It!” is about those moments when life propels you forward—sometimes with a gentle nudge, sometimes with a full-speed shove—and you find yourself rolling, dodging, and racing toward something unexpected.

Maybe it’s the time someone literally or figuratively pushed you to take a leap you weren’t sure you could make, or when you had to dodge a curveball while holding your balance (think derby jams or a last-minute life decision!). It could even be the small, hilarious moments when you tried something daring and face-planted…only to get up laughing, stronger than before.

Whether it’s mastering a skill under pressure, being a teammate when someone needed you most, or discovering your own resilience in the chaos, “Whip It!” celebrates the momentum, courage, and sheer joy of going full throttle—on the track or in life.
